Translators’ Notes:

* The Korean onomatopoeia for ‘shh’ sounds a lot like the word ‘shit’ in English.
2. ‘하수구/sewers’ reversed is ‘구수하(다)’, which means ‘to be wholesome/savory’.
3. ‘부처/buddha’ and ‘butcher’ sound the same in Korean.
4. ‘팔어 돌’, meaning ‘to sell stones’, is the word ‘돌팔이’, which means quack/incompetent doctor, in reverse. 
5. The term ‘삐끼/bbi-kki’ is slang for a touter or someone who goes around attracting people to come come to particular nightclubs or bars. These touters also often address everyone as ‘unnie’, regardless of gender. The term also sounds similar to the word ‘미끼/mi-kki’, which means ‘bait’.
6. In Korea, the dog breed beagle is often used to refer to people who are very energetic and playful.
7. Korean meals are often considered to be hearty and filling.
8. Korean shamans dance on sword-like blades to demonstrate their spiritual powers and facilitate communication between them and the gods.
9. In Japanese, Kagemusha is a term used to denote a political decoy.
10. ‘뺑끼/bbaeng-kki’ is slang for the sports term ‘feint’ which describes a fake-out move meant to deceive the opponent.
11. 극딜/keuk-deal, short for ‘extreme deal’ is a gaming term used to describe using all means possible to launch an intense attack over a short period of time.
12. The Korean words for ‘wonder/mystery’ and ‘starfish’ sound similar.
13. To send someone to Hong-Kong is a sexual innuendo that implies bringing someone to orgasm.
14. The term ‘꼰대’ is used to refer to people from older generations that enjoy imposing their old-fashioned beliefs on the younger generation. These people tend to enjoy sticking closely to what Korea’s age-based hierarchy traditionally dictates. The closest English equivalent for the term would be ‘boomer’.
